SINDH KHILAFAT COMMITTEE
During the First World War ,the Muslims of United India were very much concerned about Turkey ’s future as she was fighting by side of the Germans against Allied power including British. The Treaty of Sevres proved to be a death knell for Turkish Empire and Khilafat, and Muslim reaction on that development paved way for launching of Khilafat Movement and formation of the Khilafat Committee. In Sindh, the Khilafat Committee was formed under the presidentship of Seth Haji Abdullah Haroon in Sept.1919.The Khilafat Movement ended on 3rd March 1924, when Ghazi Mustafa Pasha exiled the Khalifa sultan Abdul Majid and abolished the Khilafat as an Institution.
