Teacher play vital role in the society. Educational institutions are 'Men-making factories' and the credit of their all production goes to teachers. My father, Dr. Dur Muhammad Pathan remained teacher/professor and is Ph.D guide. Most of his students have earned name & fame in their respective fields. Eminent Scholars like Dr. Bashir Ahmad 'Shad' and his son Dr. Ahsan 'Danish', famous poet Ahmad Ali 'Sabir' and short story writer the late Azad Jatoi etc.
Azad Jatoi was student of my father while he was studying in Government High School, Dokri. He passed V1,V11& V111 with my father as his Class Teacher. Azad was from the family of Comrade Hyder Bux Jatoi and Moulvi Ghulam Rasool Jatoi (famous poet & freedom fighter). Azad was inspired from both, his family and teacher. He founded Daily 'Moonal' that is edited by his wife Hasina Jatoi from Karachi. This book has been published by that great lady in 2011. I am sharing photo of the title page of that book. بابو سائين ڊاڪٽر درمحمد پٺاڻ ن فقط هڪ تاريخدان ۽ محقق طور سنڌ جي خدمت ڪري پيو پر هن ڪيترن ئي اهڙن شاگردن کي پڙھايو آھي جن پنهنجي پنهنجي شعبي ۾ نالو ڪمايو آھي. تحقيق جي دنيا جا ٻ اهم نالا ڊاڪٽر بشير احمد شاد پٺاڻ ۽ سندس فرزند ڊاڪٽر احسان دانش بابا جا شاگرد آھن. اهو خڳد رڪارڊ آھي ت پئ ۽ پٽ بابي کان علم پرايو.
مرحوم آزاد جتويئ ڦوه جوانئ ۾ وفات ڪئي. مرحوم ٽي سال بابي وٽ پڙھيو هو. هو ادب جي دنيا ۾ ڪهاڻيڪار طور سڃاتو ويندو هو. هن ڪراچئ مان “مومل“ اخبار ب ڪڍي جيڪا سندس وني حسينا جتوئي اڄ ب ڪڍي ٿي. ڪهاڻين جو هي ڪتاب ب سندس ونيئ 2011 ۾ شايع ڪرايو. ڪتاب پڙھٻ وٽان آهي.(ممتاز علي پٺاڻ)
