PROBLEMS RELATED TO COLLECTION & DOCUMENTATION OF SOURCE-MATERIAL, AND RESEARCHERS' ATTITUDE REGARDING OBTAINING OF MATERIAL.
Gul Hayat Institute is doing its level best to collect, document and preserve Source-Material on various aspects of Sindh history. We are proud of our collection of quantity as well as quality nature.
The collection of material/information/data is very tough and thankless job. It is our bitter experience that in spite of 100 reminders, we get no positive response from people, even from intellectuals of our society.
We have collected unique data & information on vital subjects/topics, including: 1). Ancestors of those Sindhi Hindus, who left for India or elsewhere after partition, 2). Hindu-Muslim relations in Sindh before partition, with special reference to the communal problem, and 3). Partition stories, with special reference to sorrows & longings of Sindhi Hindu community. This trio of topics are most popular topics of researchers of home and abroad.
We are being contacted by individuals and organizations in this regard also. But, here we also face difficulty of amazing nature of persons, those intend to obtain material/information/data without any acknowledgement or return in cash or kind. The situation is very disappointing, but we have work on this noble cause and trying to find out any mechanism that can benefit real researchers and our work is not turned into assignment of any individual or organization. But, it should be of the nation and by the Gul Hayat.
